Phoenix Multisport's expansion strategy

Thank you for your interest in learning more about Phoenix Multisport's expansion plan.

It all started with an idea.

In the winter of 2006, Scott Strode had an idea. Scott had found strength and support in sport and the fellowship with others in sobriety through these activities, but the question was how to turn that idea and desire to help into an organization?  Fast forward to 2012, now Phoenix Multisport is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with chapters in Boulder, Denver and Colorado Springs.  The organization colletively runs close to 50 programs per week and employs a full-time staff of 17.  Our instructors are highly qualified in their respective disciplines and just as importantly are examples of excelling in a sober lifestyle. We are intensely proud of the over 6,000 individuals who have attended Phoenix programming since 2007 and excited for future expansion plans.

However, this process didn't happen overnight and a large part of the success of Phoenix Multisport is due to establishing a trajectory that has helped in creating an organization that is solid ethically, legally and financially. We take this process very seriously and so as we approach expansion outside of Colorado it is with the gained knowledge from the past five years of experience.

Just as Scott had an idea, we're sure that you do as well about how this can help your community and we'd like to hear from you as we assess opportunities and set our course for 2013.  If you have additional questions or ideas, please email Phoenix's Director of Programs and Events Wylie Belasik (wylie@phoenixmultisport.org).
