Bolivia: Update 6
07.27.2009

The boys called Sunday morning as they were heading out of La Paz to the daunting and beautiful Illimani for the next five days. Saturday was a rest day so they spent it watching movies and chilling out at the hotel. Illimani sits south of La Paz with a summit of 21,201 feet. The weather has been a bit rainy and overcast so they are having to watch it closely. The plan is to spend the first night at base camp and the second night at "Nido del Condor" (Condor Nest) altitude camp at 18,404 feet. On Tuesday they will try for the summit. Attached are a few photos Rourke sent yesterday: -Scott and Ben looking over Copacabana as we took a quick break driving in -Scott and Ben hanging out and sharing a laugh while acclimatizing -The view of the sunset from our hotel in Copacabana overlooking lake Titicaca -The boat we took across Lake Titicaca, Ben and Scott standing to the side as our car get loaded -On the Boat crossing Lake Titicaca, Illamani in the background -Scott convinced the "boat" captain that it was in his best interests to relieve the duty of driving to Rourke
